Members of the public are invited to send their nominations for winners of the 2001 Earth Day Awards. The annual awards, which are presented by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, honor residents, agencies, and businesses in the following categories:

• Waste Reduction and Recycling

• Business Recycling

• Environmentally Friendly Construction

• Best Hazardous Waste Program

• Water Quality Protection

• Air Quality Protection

• Conservation Leadership

• Youth Leadership

• Volunteerism

Nomination forms may be obtained by calling The Open Line at 360-337-5777 or 800-825-4940. The form is also downloadable from the County’s website at www.wa.gov/kitsap. Instructions for submitting the forms are included in the application packet.

The Solid Waste Division must receive all nominations by March 9, 2001.
