The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations for the 2001 Business Person of the Year through April 2. The winner will be recognized at the chamber’s annual banquet May 24 and honored as Grand Marshall of the chamber’s July 4th Holiday Parade.

Candidates should be individuals who are respected in the community and recognized for their business acumen and active involvement in community programs. They must be island residents but do not have to belong to the chamber or be nominated by chamber members.

Nominations are open for public participation, and should include detailed explanations of candidates’ qualifications for the award — what characteristics, attitudes, activities and accomplishments make them outstanding and why is the award appropriate at this time.
