Three new artists at the Verksted

A potter who strives for perfection in his work, a “Peoples’ Choice” award winning watercolor artist and a 74 year old decorative painter are the featured artists at the Verksted Gallery in Poulsbo in February.

Andy Buck and his wife Pam, own Raincreek Pottery and produce beautiful and functional work with a personal touch from the artist on each piece. The works echo shades of nature and due to a special firing technique has a unique, one-of-a kind quality.

Winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Port Gamble Arts Fair two years ago, watercolor artist Lynn Lever has been painting over 20 years. Her technique incorporates perfectionism of perspective with a love of peaceful settings that include boats, lighthouses, gardens and varied structures. She also still receives requests for her beloved watercolor called “Grandpa’s Red Shirt”.

Lilian Johnson began painting at age 13, and has never stopped. The 74 year old artist’s Rosemoling and Tolepainting works are very familiar to the people of Poulsbo, as she has been with the Verksted since the start, 14 years ago. Her work is very much a part of the Scandinavian theme of Poulsbo, as is Johnson - who painted 8 of the downtown benches for the City!

The Verksted Gallery on Front Street in downtown Poulsbo offers fine arts and crafts by regional artists, in a friendly atmosphere The gallery is owned and operated by approximately 35 artists.
