The Sidney Gallery in Port Orchard will feature the work of several artists during the months of February and March.

A husband wife show that combines the unique talents of Port Orchard artists Mavis & Ernie Akiyoshi will run all month long in February.

Ernie Akiyoshi, who prefers to paint in oils & acrylics, will display a variety of landscapes and seascapes, while Mavis Akiyoshi, a multi-media artist, will display a wide array of media.

Their serious art careers began in the early 80’s with a successful studio in Southern California, and they now show at a variety of locations including, Art shows, Galleries, & Local Businesses. Both belong to the South Kitsap Artists Association, are members of the Sidney Museum and Arts Association, and volunteer as Sidney Gallery staff.

March is the month for the “Winner’s Circle.” The gallery showcases the first place winners its previous year’s open art show competition. This year will feature Port Orchard artist Sharon Hamilton, Oils; Port Orchard artist Helen Stoner, Pastels; Gig Harbor artist Renee Crist, Photography; and Vaughn artist Jacqueline Hickey, Watercolors.

This show displays March 7 to 29, with a public reception for the artists on March 11 from 1 -to 4 p.m. For information, call (360) 876-3693.
