Bainbridge Island businessman and former mayor, Sam Granato, has been named as the new executive director of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce. Denise Lee has also been named as operations director.

Granato brings an extensive background in business and government to the job. He lead the successful effort to extend the boundaries of the City of Bainbridge Island to include the entire island, which gave the city autonomy over all its land use decisions and he also developed the Pavilion Mall in Winslow. It includes a five-screen cinema complex, flanked by restaurants other retail businesses. He also operated the theater at Lynwood Center.

Lee served most recently with the Department of Social and Health Services as the program coordinator for the Division of Developmental Disabilities. She also brings experience as an author, web designer and general manager of a hotel to the job. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber.
