Special events coordinator Tuva Productions of Silverdale, has been named to operate the Kitsap County Fair and Rodeo this year.

The firm is a partnership between Frank Abbott and Lauran Erickson, who both individually and together have been involved locally with Whaling Days and Hot August Nights, as well as the Bite of Seattle, the Taste of Tacoma, and Bumpershoot.

Although the fair will remain under the jurisdiction of the Kitsap County Parks and Recreation Department, Tuva will be tasked with managing the fairgrounds, contracting with fair participants and working with volunteers.

County officials have proposed an interim contract to let the company begin organizing this year’s event. The one-year contract contains an option for a second year.
