The magazine published the selected finalists last May and asked for votes. Readers voted the DCX Online system as one of only five Gold winners. There were also five Silver and five Bronze winners. The system is also a finalist for the annual Plant Engineering Product of the Year award.

The online system can monitor hundreds of machines in a plant looking for faults with its automated diagnostic system. It will identify problems and make specific repair recommendations well in advance of machine failure. Key features include an industrial Windows 98/2000 platform and highly detailed information (mimic) displays, updated in near real time at any location on a plant’s network, or even around the world. The system can instantly warn remote operators of problems using network alerts, detailed e-mail alerts, text messaging and pagers.
