Jose and Asteli Lopez, owners of the El Sombrero Mexican restaurant have expanded their popular South Kitsap eatery by approximately 1,500 sq.ft. They increased the size of the dining area by moving the bar into an abutting space after a retailer in the Big K-Mart shopping center where they’re located moved out.
The expansion will allow the kitchen area to be doubled in size as well as add space for approximately 15 more tables in the non-smoking area and 12 more in the smoking section. The bar will remain the same size, but will have a small kitchen added to it, so appetizers and bar snacks can be prepared right there.
