The Washington State Arts Commission’s (WSAC) Arts Education Community Consortia Grant Applications are now available from its Arts In Education Program.

Arts Education Community Consortia Grants are available to community consortia of educators, parents, artists, arts organizations, local businesses and others working toward improving the arts programming of their local public schools or other facilities serving youth. Any 501 (c) 3 or government agency is eligible to apply, including public schools and school districts.

The goals of the program are to support a community’s capacity to implement the state’s Essential Academic Learning Requirements in the Arts, to encourage full utilization of local resources, to help communities develop strong arts education programming, and to develop local expertise when applicable.

The grant deadline is Feb. 23, 2001 for projects and program activities occurring between July 1, 2001 and June 30, 2002. For more information or an application, call (360) 753-3861 or visit www.wa.gov/art/aie where applications may be downloaded.
