Mike Dillon recently was named as publisher of the Kitsap Newspaper Group’s (KNG) Central Kitsap Reporter, Bremerton Patriot, and Northwest Navigator. He replaces Tom Morgan, who took a position as advertising director of the Merced (Calif.) Sun-Star.

Dillon had previously served as publisher of the Reporter, served as advertising manager of the Port Orchard Independent when the KNG bought it in 1988 and was named publisher in 1990. He has also been advertising manager at KNG’s Kitsap County Herald in Poulsbo.

Dillon worked as publisher of Pacific Publishing Company’s Queen Anne and Magnolia News and Kirkland Courier. The Queen Anne and Magnolia News were consistently recognized for excellence by the Washington Newspaper Publisher’s Association (WNPA) under Dillon’s management, and he received numerous WNPA awards for feature writing and community involvement, including a first place award for best general news column.
