Kitsap legislators’ AWB ratings

The Association of Washington Business recently posted a listing on its Web site (www.awb.org) rating all of the state’s legislators on business-friendliness, based on their voting record on bills important to business.

There was insufficient data to rate Beverly Woods (R-23), Kathy Haigh (D-35) and Phil Rockefeller (D-23).

However, Pat Lantz (D-26) only voted with business 36 percent of the time, while Bill Eickmeyer (D-35) supported business 54 percent. Retiring House budget guru Tom Huff (R-26) had a 100 percent record of supporting legislation deemed important to business.

In the Senate, Betti Sheldon (D-23) had the poorest record of all of Kitsap’s legislators — and one of the poorest in the entire Senate, supporting business a mere 28 percent of the time, while Tim Sheldon (D-35) voted with business 85 percent and Bob Oke (D-26) 91 percent.
