Ed and Pam Rehder of Bainbridge Island have sold their company, Custom Millworks, to Parker Lumber Co. of Bremerton and Dick Kelly of Poulsbo. Kelly, formerly General Manager of Parker Lumbers Bremerton yard, will manage the operation. They new owners will retain the Custom Millworks name and Ed Rehder will continue in a consulting capacity with the company.
The 15 year-old specialty millwork company is located at 7669 Day Road West in the Day Road Industrial Park on Bainbridge Island. Established in 1985, it has been owned and operated for the past 13 years by the Rehders.
The companys operations include the pre-hanging, pre-finishing and manufacturing of wood, fiberglass and metal doors, trim and casings, custom cabinets, millwork, mantle and stair systems, with delivery and installation offered throughout Kitsap County. It also specializes in the design and creation of unique millwork applications such as stair rails, custom moulding, mantles and cabinets and can match virtually any profile or design a customer has in mind. Its customers include quality custom home builders and remodelers throughout the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas.
Parker Lumber is a Bremerton institution, established in 1922 by A. H. Ike Parker. The company was purchased by Rick Barnes when Parker retired in 1994. In addition to its main Wheaton Way yard in Bremerton, Parker Lumber owns lumber yards in Bothell and in Palm Springs, Calif. as well as a roof truss facility in Belfair. |
