The Red Cross is looking for heroes real heroes ordinary people who have extraordinary things.
In a public celebration honoring people who have demonstrated unselfish courage, compassion and character, the Red Cross will honor these people at its signature event, the annual Real Heroes Breakfast, to be held Dec. 5 at the Silverdale Hotel.
The breakfast is a way for the Red Cross to bring community awareness to its mission of prevention, preparation and response to emergencies as well as its many programs to assist victims in local emergencies, including CPR, first aid and other life saving and disaster preparedness training.
Heroes will be honored in the categories of fire, law enforcement, medical, 911 dispatch, adult Good Samaritan, youth Good Samaritan, water rescue, military, industrial and animal rescue.
