Bremerton Chamber taps Klatman

Sylvia Klatman has taken the reins of the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce after being named executive director.

Klatman served most recently as director of business retention and expansion with the Kitsap Regional Economic Development Council (EDC). She worked for the Chamber previously as its operations manager from 1996 through 1998, before taking the EDC position. Previous to that, she had worked in a management capacity in her family’s business, Vanguard Office Systems, until it was purchased by Danka.

She replaces Neil Korth, who had been serving as executive director in an interim capacity and was the operations manager that replaced Wayne Junge when he left the Chamber to accept a position in Thailand. Korth decided in May to leave the Chamber for other opportunities, but agreed to stay until a new executive director was selected.

Klatman took over on Aug. 1.
