Jeannie Screws, a resident of Port Orchard for the past 30 years and a manager with the Manchester Water District, has announced her intention to run for the 26th District House seat being vacated by Tom Huff. She will run as a Democrat.
Screws, 38, has volunteered along with her husband in the community for many years. He volunteer activities include time with the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management Operations Program as well as in youth sports and scouting.
Screws identified transportation, education and taxes as key issues she feels need to be addressed, and said more citizens need to become involved in the political process.
