Two join Harrison Hospital board

The Harrison Hospital board of directors recently elected two new members, Dr. Kate Brostoff and Mike Davis.

Davis is chief of detectives for the Kitsap County Sheriff’s office. He is also a member of the South Kitsap School Board and a former member of the Bremerton School Board. He and his wife Gaylene own Special Effects Hair Studio in Manette.

Dr. Brostoff is the only board-certified geriatrician-internist in Kitsap County. She has a special interest in long term care of frail elders. She is the current president of the Washington State Medical Directors Association and spent seven years as medical director for Hospice of Kitsap County.

She serves as medical director for four area skilled nursing facilities and two assisted living facilities, and was appointed by the governor to the Washington State Board of Nursing Homes Administrators. She also serves on Harrison’s medical staff and is the liaison between the hospital and the local skilled nursing facilities.
