Doctor’s Clinic signs back on with KPS

KPS and The Doctor’s Clinic have announced that The Doctor’s Clinic will not only be a provider, but a customer as well when it rejoins KPS as a subscriber this fall.

The clinic has been actively involved as a provider-participant in the rehabilitation of KPS under the insurance commissioner’s receivership plan, and was instrumental in rallying physician support for the rehabilitation effort. But in the midst of KPS’ financial troubles last year, it had elected to cover its own employees under another insurance plan.

“KPS is a vital part of our community’s health care system. We are pleased that the new management team is aggressively taking the necessary steps to restore the financial well-being of our local health plan,” said Linda Brown, CEO of The Doctor’s Clinic. “We have chosen to broaden our support of their efforts by purchasing our health care coverage from KPS. We are confident they are the best choice for our health care needs.”

Elizabeth Gilje, president of KPS was elated at the news, saying, “We are all very excited that The Doctor’s Clinic is returning to us. It shows the commitment of the clinic to support KPS not only as a contracted provider but also as a subscriber to our health plan. We’re proving that we’re here to stay.
