Kenny offers chainsaw carving classes
   George Kenny, known locally for his chainsaw works of art, will offer two levels of training in the art. The one day introductory class will teach the basics of safety and carving design. Kenny will demonstrate step by step the actions and tools needed to make and preserve a bear or eagle chainsaw carving.
   The advanced class is a four day course to help students become Certified Chainsaw Carvers. Kenny will work with the students in a studio environment where they will finish the course by creating a chainsaw carving to take home with them.

Eagle Harbor Books featured
in Sunset Magazine
   Eagle Harbor Book Company and owner Morley Horder led off an article in the January issue of Sunset Magazine under the heading “It’s Raining Books – Little bookstores thrive in northwest Washington.”
   While the profit margin can be painfully small, Horder notes, the island community cherishes books; the company is three times the size it was when he bought it in 1997.

Daigle Design captures three national awards
   Honors from American Corporate Identity’s 2003 annual contest were recently announced, and Daigle Design, located on Bainbridge Island, was among the recipients, with three awards for design.
   Two awards were for logo work and package design of coffee cups created for Simon’s, an espresso restaurant located in Seattle. The third award was for a logo created for Salmon Run House, a vacation getaway on the Kitsap Peninsula.
