$650,000 judgment in contract dispute
Poulsbo-based Paladin Data Systems Corporation, a

Bremerton debuts water bottles
   In an effort to educate the public on the quality and value of the city’s drinking water, Bremerton’s water utility has produced 2,000 custom labeled, 22-ounce bottles.
   The bottles are free to Bremerton water system customers.
   “The purpose of the bottles is to highlight that Bremerton has excellent quality, low cost water,” Water Resources Manager Kathleen Cahall said. “While a bottle of water at the store can cost a dollar, a Bremerton resident can fill up their water bottle over 3,000 times for the same price.”
   The bottles were paid for by an allocated public education and conservation fund at a cost of about $1.32 per bottle.
   Bremerton water system customers can pick up a bottle at the utility office on Olympus Avenue, the Bremerton Senior Center or City Hall.

New optical technology now available here
   Silverdale Eyecare Center is the first eye-care practice in the area to offer the new Optomap exam, an imaging technology that detects retinal disease of damage.    Bratrud Middleton Insurance has bought the 73-year old B.A. Getschmann Co., a Bremerton-based insurance firm that opened its doors in 1930.
   Former Getschmann owners Rolland Perry and Mary Hancock and their staff had joined Bratrud Middleton as well.
   Founded in Tacoma in 1923, Bratrud Middleton Insurance is the largest, privately owned, independent insurance agency in the state, with eight branch offices.

Ciani certified as medical reviewer
   Dr. Peter V. Ciani of Occupational Medical Associations of Kitsap in Silverdale is now qualified as a certified Medical Review Officer.
   He was certified by the Medial Review Officer Certification Council, an independent physician-based group, that uses an application process and written test to identify licensed physicians with the standard and skills needed to evaluate drug and alcohol tests results.

WestCoast hotel changes name
   The WestCoast Silverdale Hotel is now the Red Lion Silverdale Hotel. The name change became effective on February 26.
   Spokane-based WestCoast Hospitality Corp., the parent company of Red Lion, has changed the name of 22 of it’s WestCoast Hotels in an effort to expand the Red Lion brand after buying 41 Red Lion and two Doubletree Hotels from Hilton Hotels Corp.
