Even more salmon continue to return
The predicted return of Columbia River fall Chinook salmon, which are listed under the Endangered Species Act, has increased yet again, from 660,000 to 709,000 adult fish.
The growing numbers of returning fish are wreaking havoc with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) predictions on the total number of actual salmon. If the numbers continue to increase, it will make it even more difficult for the agency to justify continuing the fight to keep the fish listed under the Endangered Species Act.
