Prosthetic art innovator to display at WIA exhibition

Prosthetic Art by Dan HorkeyPort Orchard entrepreneur Dan Horkey announced that his patent-pending tattoo art for orthopedic braces and prosthetic limbs will be on display as part of Wounded in Action: An Art Exhibition of Orthopaedic Advancements. The exhibition, a special program at the American Academy Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual National Meeting in New Orleans, March 9-13, celebrates those who have had orthopaedic injuries as a result of serving the USA in war.

Horkey, who created a new category for the WIA exhibition called “Innovations in Prosthetic Art,” is thrilled to be able to attend the exhibition. “Organizers hope that it will travel to other venues around the United States, including Walter Reed Hospital,” said Horkey, “so I may have to say goodbye to some of my prize pieces of prosthetic tattoo art for a year, but the opportunity to display at Wounded in Action is just too good to pass up.”

Bios of Horkey and artist, Mark Dalton, will be included in a Coffee Table Book published by Wounded in Action.
