At the Port of Bremerton meeting this morning, it was announced that Bremerton Mayor Cary Bozeman will resign his position to become the new chief executive officer for the Port of Bremerton. Bozeman will begin his new job on June 8, and will be paid a salary $120,000 annually.
Bozeman, who was first elected in 2002, had planned to run for re-election this fall, against challenger Mike Shepherd. Bremerton City Council President Cecil McConnell will serve as interim mayor, Bozeman said at the meeting.
The Port of Bremerton has been without a CEO since Jan. 1, when Ken Attebery retired.
