Bill Hoke of Bremerton has been appointed to the board of directors of Washington Community Alliance for Self Help , a micro enterprise and lending program for economically disadvantaged men and women. The program is headquartered in Seattle. Hoke has been a volunteer mentor for the CASH program in Kitsap County for six years and in 2002 was named “Mentor of the Year.”
The CASH program provides nine weeks of business training and graduates then join peer loan groups where they can become eligible for micro loans, from $500 and more. The Kitsap program has nearly 30 local entrepreneurs involved and meets bi-weekly at Kitsap Community Resources in Bremerton.
