Port Gamble will host an afternoon of free maritime music on Aug. 15 from noon to 5 p.m. The Port Gamble Maritime Music Festival will present live performances by five musical acts, celebrating the Northwest’s connection to the water. Festival visitors can purchase takeout food and beverages from the General Store, or browse through stalls offering maritime gifts and information.
The Port Gamble Maritime Music Festival, now in its fourth year, is the only annual festival on the West Coast focused on maritime music. “We aim to keep the festival small, no more than 300 to 500 people,” says Chris Glanister, vice-president of Puget Sound Productions, the non-profit organization that produces the festival. “We want this to be a relaxing, laid-back event with great music. We have some of the best maritime musicians in the Northwest lined up.” For more information, visit the festival website at www.portgamblemaritimemusic.com.
