| The West Sound Technology Professionals Association has changed its name to the West Sound Technology Association (WSTA). The new name better reflects the organizations mission for the last five years to embrace all current and future members who value technology as a tool to realize efficiency and stimulate economic vitality, whether or not they are actually technology professionals, according to President Doña Keating. She said already the group reaches out and involves not just technology professionals but business owners, consultants and technology users from many industries.
Other new WSTA plans include recording more of its meetings to be played on BKAT and/or Bainbridge Island Broadcasting (BIB); and to develop a more user-friendly Web site with additional discussion boards, a job bank, and podcasts.
The organization has a new Web address, westsoundtechnology.org, while the current one, www.wstpa.org, will continue to be used as a forum for core members to share peer-to-peer best practices in a more technical environment.
The WSTA will continue to provide events of interest to a broad range of technology users. Upcoming sessions include: Penetration and Vulnerability Assessment Tactics on May 15 and The Future in Medicine: How Technology Will Impact Your Care on June 19.
