Hacker “Adrian Lamo” surrendered to the FBI on the steps of the Sacramento courthouse as TechTV’s “The Screen Savers” captured the event live. Lamo became widely known in hacker circles for hacking into companies like Yahoo! and WorldCom, then telling the execs how he did it. He is well known for hacking into the NY Times’ Intranet to obtain the home phone numbers of the likes of Vint Cerf, Warren Beatty and Rush Limbaugh.

Living out of a backpack, getting online at University libraries and Kinko’s laptop stations, Lamo wanders the US by Amtrak and Greyhound.
