The West Sound Technology Professionals Association (WSTPA) will be hosting Western Washington Summit: Fostering Innovation with Technology and Economic Development Entrepreneurship. This first of its kind event, drawing together technology, business, economic development, and government leaders throughout the seven-county Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula regions.
The event will take place at the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo, on Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The primary focus is on the fundamental building blocks for long-term economic growth, and fostering technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
The keynote speaker is Ken Myer, president of Technology Alliance (TA), and principal of Atlantis Investment Group. Myer is coming to WSTPA as part of a statewide speaking tour being organized by the TA. The goal of this campaign is to build awareness and mobilize support for research, education, and entrepreneurship as the key drivers of Washingtons economic future.
Myer will explain how these three drivers help grow a technology-based economy; he will also discuss the Technology Alliance Associates, a newly formed coalition of regional technology-based organizations that have joined with the TA in support of these three drivers.
Other speakers include Kitsap County Commissioner Jan Angel, Poulsbo City Councilman Ed Stern, and Mark Rose of OlympicTechNet. The individual presentations will be preceded by an opportunity for networking among all attendees, and will be followed by an open question and answer session. A no host bar and hors doeuvres will be available.
