| Olympic College (OC) has signed an agreement with the University of Washington Tacoma (UWT) that provides a new direct transfer option to students enrolled in OCs Computer Information Systems Science Program. Along with the agreement a Washington State allocation will provide up to $500,000 in capital funds to aid in the remodeling of computer labs at OC.
According to Dr. Richard Strand, Dean for Business and Technology, the agreement has been under discussion for over a year, and provides an attractive alternative to students desiring to upgrade their Associate in Technical Arts Degree to a Bachelor or Science in Computing and Software Systems awarded from the UWTs Institute of Technology.
Even in the wake of dot.com contraction, Washington State has a growing need for qualified Computer Information System graduates, said Strand. |
