Audion unveils first networked
digital audio phone editing system
Bainbridge Island’s Audion Laboratories, Inc., maker of the award-winning VoxPro PC™ digital audio phone editor, debuted the first networked system for radio at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2002 convention held recently in Las Vegas.

VoxPro PC workstations can now be linked via an NT, Novell or peer-to-peer network. This seamless integration of audio files throughout a broadcast operation creates speed and efficiency in the studio, and on the air.

“The networked VoxPro PC makes our morning team bigger — it’s the fourth member of our morning show,” said Scott Valentine, KCMS-FM Seattle. “I can record a caller and my producer instantly has it up on his VoxPro PC screen to do all the editing while I take more calls. I’ve used them all and this is the fastest, easiest and most intuitive editor of them all.”

Using the new Network Plug-In VoxPro PC users can instantly access folders and files within a given work group in addition to the files they individually create. Changes made by group members are immediately visible to members of the same group working at other VoxPro PC stations on the same network. With the new Network Plug-In, administrators can also manage the amount of hard disk space used by individual users, create password protected user space and group folders where multiple users can work as a team to create, edit and share recordings.

The VoxPro PC digital audio editor offers fast simple voice editing. The single screen interface and easy to use control panel was designed by broadcast professionals to meet the time sensitive needs of on-air radio programs. In addition to the new Network Plug-In, VoxPro PC offers Import and Export of .WAV, Windows Media and AIFF audio files; one button record for instantaneous recording in any mode; one button insert record for instant recording anywhere within an existing recording; VOICESLIP to automatically separate host and caller talk-over.
