Local copywriter lands national projects
Bremerton-based freelance writer Heidi Witherspoon recently landed several notable, national level writing projects.

Seattle retail consulting agency The Retail Group, brought Witherspoon in to wordsmith for two Payless ShoeSource product roll-outs for Bundles, and Luster!

Bundles, a specialty retailer of socks and underwear, uses 1950s era photographs in all point of purchase collateral. Witherspoon was hired to create a new spin in headline format for more than 50 of these larger-than-life, in-store elements. The stores are now launching on the East Coast and Midwest.

Luster!, a women’s accessory concept store, began testing in select national locations over the summer and boasts Witherspoon’s fashion savvy headlines.

She is also working with The Retail Group on the naming and tag line development of a national, Generation Y project.

Chicago based trade show pros Exhibit Marketing Partners hired Witherspoon to write the content of its new corporate Web site. The site, emulating the personality of the company’s C.E.O., will launch early this year.

San Diego public relations manager Audrey Jacobs called upon Witherspoon to produce press materials for the second phase launch of La Jolla Village Towers, a Hyatt owned, assisted and independent living community for seniors.
Witherspoon scrapped the company’s existing press release in favor of communications that gave the California flavor of the Towers’ architecture, amenities, and people.

Regionally, Witherspoon has been churning out copy on html e-mail advertisements for e-commerce firm Network Commerce, Inc; teaming up with Tamara Wilson Public Relations to support Seattle based food and hospitality clients, and with the staff of Da Vinci Gourmet, Ltd. to promote a line of flavored syrups distributed in 40 countries.

Locally, Witherspoon is most recognized for her freelance features in The Sun. Visit her online at www.portfolios.com/HeidiWitherspoon.
