Apple halts Cube production
Apple Computer has halted production of its Power Mac G4 Cube desktop model. The Cube, which measures eight inches on a side, was introduced less than a year ago but sales have suffered due to weak demand from computer buyers.

Apple offered rebates to help soften prices on the Cube, but consumers have stayed away or opted for the company’s Power Mac G4 minitower instead. When it introduced the Cube last July, Apple was asking between $1,799 and $2,299, a comparatively high price for a desktop that came without a monitor or keyboard. Recently the models were selling for between $1,299 and $2,199.
