| Solutions In Hand has released MiniCalc v. 6.1, a Palm spreadsheet application with a graphical interface, Excel compatibility, and much of the functionality found in desktop spreadsheet programs.
MiniCalc’s spreadsheets can have up to 256 columns and 9,999 rows and supports 80 built-in functions, including financial, scientific, and statistical calculations. Recently used functions can be accessed quickly from a “favorite functions” list. Text cells may contain up to 12,000 characters, with full support for word wrapping, text functions, and Excel-like text conversion. Calculations have a maximum precision of 15 significant digits.
Users can create multi-sheet workbooks, with an unlimited number of worksheets per workbook, and external links to other workbooks. Other features include cell data protection, an Excel-compatible charting program, password protection, categories support for workbooks, and support for international formats. It also provides seamless data synchronization with Excel 97/2000 on the PC using the standard Palm OS HotSync Manager, as well as conduit synchronization of comma-delimited (CSV) files on the PC. Data may be exchanged with other applications using the system clipboard, and with other computers via beaming.
