Time Warner Cable opens broadband to Juno
Time Warner will open its high-speed cable network to Internet service provider Juno when its exclusive arrangement with RoadRunner expires, the entertainment giant has announced.

The agreement, which for the first time gives multiple ISPs access to the company’s broadband network, might make it easier for federal regulators to approve the merger of Time Warner and America Online. Cable-modem provider RoadRunner is owned by Time Warner.

Time Warner Cable, a division of Time Warner’s entertainment unit, signed a letter of intent with Juno Online Services that will allow Juno to offer high-speed Internet access over Time Warner Cable’s network.

The commitment will give consumers a choice in how to access the network. Juno is also the first Internet access provider other than roadrunner to reach a business agreement with Time Warner Cable for broadband Internet access.
