Sprint PCS partners for wireless chat
Sprint PCS, the nation’s largest 100 percent digital, 100 percent CDMA wireless provider, and Jumbuck, a leading pioneer of the wireless chatroom, have announced an agreement to provide access to the first wireless chat service of its kind in the U.S. An especially popular communication medium for the youth market, Sprint PCS customers nationwide now have access to wireless chatrooms from more than 15 Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phones.

Jumbuck’s Wireless Chat allows customers to conduct text conversations with other users in unique chatrooms focusing on specific subjects. Just like in most other chat rooms, users can see the nicknames of other people using the service, read the last messages posted by them and respond — joining a wireless chat conversation from virtually anywhere, anytime, on the Sprint PCS nationwide network.

Since it’s a PCS-to-PCS service, customers can access the service on the new “Messaging” folder of the Sprint PCS Wireless Web, which holds a portfolio of two-way messaging services including AOL Instant Messenger, Sprint PCS Short Mail, Sprint PCS Mail and Wireless Chat.

Sprint PCS chose Jumbuck Corporation Ltd. as a partner due to the popularity and tremendous user growth of its wireless chat service since it was launched in January. Jumbuck currently handles over 500,000 text messages a month and specializes in providing high-usage text messaging solutions to wireless carriers.

Since Jumbuck launched the original wireless chat service in January, it has since seen chatroom usage double approximately every two months. Today, Jumbuck serves more than 3.5 million phone impressions per month to a range of wireless chat clients through direct access to the Jumbuck.
