The Net Works changes name, focus
Olalla company targets Linux
Linux-Works is the new name of the Olalla company formerly known as The Net Works. The firm has done business in Kitsap and Pierce counties for the past twelve years, providing clients with hardware and software solutions as well as consulting and ongoing technical support. Its network engineers have expertise and certifications in Linux, Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000, Novell and numerous business applications.

According to owner Ray Garrido, over the past two years the firm has been exploring the use of the Linux operating system as a more stable and less costly alternative for its customers while observing the base of business applications available for Linux grow exponentially.

“We see Linux as the operating system of the future,” said Garrido. “But we will continue to implement and support Windows and Novell solutions whenever and wherever they make sense for our customers.”

Linux-Works offers a line of high quality computer systems, peripherals and network hardware including its unique Nano PC, Laptops, desktop systems, workstations and a variety of servers. Its LT-100 provides a secure way to connect remote sites and users using secure Virtual Private Networking (VPN) without the high cost of dedicated phone company lines. It also offers technical support and consulting services that include system and network planning, design and implementation as well as web design service.
