Electricity shortages threaten E-Biz
   Possible electricity supply shortages were signaled recently in both New England and California, a follow up to the supply curtailments experienced in California last month.

The California shortages stymied e-business operations and cost participants millions of dollars, if not more, suggested Justin Bradley, a director at the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group, whose 175 mostly high-tech manufacturers.

Officials in both areas called for voluntary reduction of electricity use and California actually began its curtailment program for select customers, principally agriculture and some air conditioning units.
