| Yahoo! Inc. has debuted Corporate Yahoo!, which will let companies integrate their proprietary corporate content and apps with Yahoo!’s personalized Internet services and content behind existing firewalls.
Corporate Yahoo! allows corporations to take data from their intranet or from other content sources and customize it based on the worker’s role in the company to build a corporate My Yahoo! page, said John Willcutts, vice president of Yahoo! Enterprise Services. That ability fills the need for a mix between outside Internet content and internal Intranet content.
Yahoo! gives the corporation control of the template.
“When the page is requested by the end user, it’s delivered behind the firewall on the company template,” he said. “They get the same information they normally receive on the Yahoo! page, but now it has a slightly different look based on what the company sets up.”. |
