AOL, RealNetworks partner on multimedia
America Online is expected to announce that it will use Seattle-based RealNetworks software throughout its network in what may be the largest deployment yet of multimedia software on the Internet.

While AOL acknowledged the agreement, neither company would say much about it. People familiar with the situation estimate that the transaction will be valued at $20-30 million. AOL will bundle RealNetworks’ popular Internet media player, RealPlayer, with Web browser software distributed by Netscape, now a unit of AOL.
