| SAP AG recently edged out Oracle and other rivals in winning the business of handheld-device maker Palm, a Palm executive said.
Palm has agreed to license the German companys mySAP.com and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, including the SCM, financial, and sales integration components, said Peter Claassen, director of business development for Palm, Santa Clara, Calif.
The deal is a major coup for SAP, which has struggled to build a customer base for mySAP.com since it was introduced last year. SAP established mySAP.com to extend R/3, its back-office suite of accounting, manufacturing, human-resource, and order-management applications, to the Web. |
