| Small- and mid-sized businesses located in multi-tenant office buildings are the target of a free broadband access service unveiled recently by startup provider Urban Media.
The company is offering businesses its OnSite menu of services, which include local and long-distance voice, managed e-mail and Web hosting. In exchange for the services, which range in price from $5 to $100 per user per month, businesses will receive free network connectivity and broadband access at speeds of at least 200 Kbps per user.
Urban Media has already signed up three large property management firms Trammell Crow, Liberty Property Trust and Prentiss Properties which oversee more than 300 million square feet of office space across the country.
Urban Media will construct a fiber backbone in each property to deliver its services, and will run the fiber directly to tenants offices. |
