Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County celebrated the completion of its 60th home for a low-income Kitsap family. This home is also a significant mile stone for the Women Build program, which puts tools into women’s hands to fight poverty housing (www.kitsaphabitat.org/women_build.htm). Three homes were dedicated and turned over to their new owners on Dec. 11. The homes are part of a community of eleven homes in Habitat’s Cornerstone development near Sylvan Way and Pine Road in East Bremerton.
“There is no greater joy than to see a family receive their home. It is truly the first day of the rest of their life!” says Lori Oberlander, executive eirector of Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County.
