Weekend shopping event on Bainbridge Island will benefit American Heart Association

Shoppers who accept an invitation to “Shop to Your Heart’s Content” in downtown Bainbridge Island on Sept. 14-16 will be supporting the American Heart Association’s annual Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk on Oct. 20 in Seattle.

The event in downtown Winslow is sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association in partnership with Harrison Medical Center, Kitsap Bank and the Seattle Chapter of the American Heart Association.

More than 40 local retailers and restaurants are participating and offering special discounts to registered shoppers during the three-day event.

Shop Cards may be obtained by making a $25 tax-deductible donation to The American Heart Association at stations that will be set up on downtown streets throughout the weekend. Shoppers will also receive a special rack card listing the participating businesses. The cards are available for advance purchase at local Kitsap Bank branches, as well as the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association office and Harrison Medical Center gift shops in Bremerton and Silverdale.
