Are your vehicle’s tires ready
for the challenge of winter?
From wet to icy, flat and dry to a deep embankment, tires can keep you on the pavement or send you to the ditch.

Goodyear has introduced two new tires: for SUVs, the Fortera featuring TripleTred technology, and for cars, the newest Eagle featuring ResponsEdge technology. Each promises to improve the performance of a vehicle with advanced features.

The Fortera features three different types of tread. Jim Davis, public relations manager for Goodyear said, “Since Washington experiences the full range of weather conditions and especially long periods of wet weather, residents need a tire that can handle any conditions with confidence.”

From the inside out, the Ice Zone is a stripe down the center of the tire that provides gripping power on icy or slick roads and has traction-enhancing particles made from volcanic sand and fiberglass fibers. Next on the tire is the Water Zone. Helping propel water off the tread and away from the tire will increase traction while maximizing driving in water. The final zone, Dry Zone, is on the edges of each side of the tire and offers confident maneuvering around curves on dry pavement.

For cars, check out Goodyear’s newest Eagle. With the slogan, “Feel the road, not the rumble,” this tire includes an inner all-season zone and outer high-performance zone suitable for multiple types of drivers. Also with a carbon-fiber reinforced outer sidewall consumers will enjoy an enhanced responsiveness and better feel for the road. “The Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology is targeted at drivers who want crisp, responsive handling and a smooth, comfortable ride,” Davis said.
