After years of operating his NIssan dealership out of the same store as his Lincoln-Mercury franchise in Bremertons Auto Center, owner Aaron Capps Thomas Nissan now has a home of its own.
Advantage Nissan, as the dealership has been renamed, is operating out of a newly remodeled facility just up the street from the original in what was Parr Ford before that company moved into a new facility.
According to Capps, the gleaming new, 25,000 sq.ft. facility, which opened June 17, is state-of-the-art for the automobile business. It features a large showroom as well as a full-service repair shop and parts and accessory department.
This is a Brand Dealership, said Capps. Any new or remodeled Nissan dealership will be upgraded to this design.
Nissan is expanding its brand image through the use of the unique design, so eventually most Nissan facilities will become instantly identifiable.
The new store has a spacious customer lounge featuring couches and a big TV, as well as large windows so customers can actually watch their cars being worked on. Theres also a childrens play area and a hospitality suite with coffee and other refreshments, as well as a courtesy telephone and telecom area.
The lot itself is about three times the size of the one it shared with Capps Lincoln-Mercury store. A lot of people didnt even know we sell Nissan, he said. There just wasnt enough room at the other place to do all were capable of for our customers.
There is also a 2,600 sq. ft. building to house the used car department. It too was remodeled from what was part of the old facility.
Capps says he has plans to install a complete body shop as well, but that project wont get underway for another six months or so.
The new dealership employs 40+ people. Capps says hes bullish on Bremerton and its revitalization. And from the looks of the new dealership, hes a guy who puts his money where his mouth is. |
