Rick Lamoureux has worked at L & R Automotive in East Bremerton for more than 25 years. He began his career in the automotive field right after leaving the military in 1975. Owner Larry Setterlund came to Olympic College and hand-picked Lamoureux for Larry’s Chevron. Lamoureux continued his career with Setterlund when the service station became strictly an automotive repair shop and was renamed L & R Automotive.

The firm is a family affair, with two of Lamoureux’s sons, one a local firefighter and the other an electrician, working at the shop on off-duty days and weekends. Debbie Lamoureux works with her husband at the shop and is also employed at Wee-Care Learning Center and SunQuest Realty.

Puget Sound Auto Repair was opened by Joe & Kelly Poole in 1982. Joe Poole spent many years in the automotive field all over the Northwest and after more than 30 years, decided to retire and get his degree and teach automotive in the vocational setting.
