GM gives trucks the thumbs up
General Motors recently announced it would retool its Oklahoma City production facility to begin building trucks. The announcement was anticipated for several weeks. GM will spend over $700 million to convert production lines to make several new mid-size SUVs aimed at filling a void in its product line between the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Blazer. The new vehicles, which will compete with the Dodge Durango, will begin production in 2002.
