DaimlerChrysler hops on the PC bandwagon
   Although one of the newest trends in business is to follow Ford’s decision in February to supply all its workers with PCs, no other automakers have stepped to the plate — until now. A spokesperson for DaimlerChrysler has recently said that it is also considering offering PCs to its employees, but has not made any decisions yet. B.F. Goodrich is also considering the idea.

VW announces charity Beetle race
   Volkswagen will bring the New Beetle Cup race to Road Atlanta in September. First run in Germany in 1999 during the ten rounds of the German Super Touring Car Championship, this will be the first New Beetle Cup race in the U.S. and will benefit local charities. Drivers will include celebrities, auto journalists and a number of driving legends.
   The New Beetle race cars sport a 204-horsepower V6 engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, 18-inch wheels, racing brakes and a full roll cage.
