At Walk in Comfort, Lumactod sells custom fit orthopedics to help realign and balance your body while providing comfort and relief for your feet. He explains that proper foot support is a key function to your body’s daily functioning.

Bill Benson, owner of Posh Speakers, is perhaps best known as the guy who built the three-story high, functional speakers at his former business, Nuts About Hi-Fi, that were a landmark on Silverdale Way for almost two decades. Nowadays at Olympic College , students who want to take something other than a traditional, regularly-meeting, on-ground class can enroll in one of the various options presented at the community college.

OC offers a number of non-traditional courses for students: online courses, telecourses, and portable courses. These courses are classified as “Distance Learning.” OC was among the first schools inthe nation to embrace this teaching technology. read more »

 

Running Start, a state-wide consortium between community colleges and high schools, allows students who are prepared to take the leap to college and attend tuition free in place of traditional high school courses, earning credits that apply on both the high school and college level. It’s is a dual-credit program available for high school juniors and seniors. While participating in the program, credits taken at the college count as both high school and college credit.

To qualify for the program, students must have at least a 2.5 GPA, and pass a series of placement exams at the college. read more »

 

Bainbridge Island’s Town & Country Market recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a Picnic in the Park Anniversary Party, along with events and cake inside the store.

The picnic included live music throughout the day, games for children, and, of course, a picnic that afternoon. Fireworks over Eagle Harbor ended the night. Inside the store, cake was given out all morning while events such as the community art project were happening throughout the day. read more »

After more than two years of planning and construction, the Oxford Suites in Silverdale opened in late September. The new all-suite hotel offers 104 luxurious rooms located at the corner of Bucklin Hill Road and Silverdale Way.

Features of the new lodging establishment include an indoor pool and spa with both a steam room and sauna. There’s also a business center, a fitness center, and meeting rooms. Each room comes equipped with its own microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. read more »

 

A small quaint house sits on the edge of Dyes Inlet. Outside, perched up next to the door where a traditional open/closed sign should be, hangs a stoplight, the green light lit up. Inside sits Jeff Coombe, owner and sole propriator of JCM Property Management.

A pyramid scandal left at least 57 investors waiting anxiously for their returns after a key corporation involved in the business deal filed for bankruptcy in July this year.

Meridian L.L.C., the luxury condominium property in Bainbridge Island, filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday, July 25th of this year, leaving an assembly of people out of luck.

Meridian L.C.C. and Malibu Development teamed up to renovate and sell the luxury condominiums, using a group of primary players as their chief fund collectors. read more »
