As President Obama closes out his first year in office, perhaps it’s time for an assessment of his progress — a report card if you will.

The Obama presidency is very much a work in progress, and to be fair, his record pales in comparison to the extraordinary expectations of the people who swept him into office. Retro Dogz, located at 701 Pacific Ave in Bremerton, recently celebrated its grand opening. The menu consists of Nathan’s All Beef hotdogs, chili, soup, egg salad and tuna salad sandwiches, macaroni salad, potato salad, chips, beverages and desserts. The eatery serves the Chicago Dog retro style and weekly special hotdogs. Prices range from $3.75 to $5.00.

Owned by retired Navy veteran, David Corin, hours are M-F, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Art Walk Friday’s from 5 to 8 p.m. The resrtaurant is available for sports team parties and presentations on the weekends. read more »

 

Mallory Jackson opened Custom Picture Framing on Bay Street in Port Orchard in 1985 and has a total of 23 years custom picture framing experience, and claims they key to her success is her background in graphic design. Jackson was educated as a commercial artist and gained valuable experience in the care and handling of valuable artwork while working for the Tacoma Art Museum. read more »

The Masi Shop, owned by Port Madison Enterprises of SuquamishPort Madison Enterprises (PME) of Suquamish is busy upgrading and expanding its mini chain of mini-marts.

The Masi Shop, located on SR 305 a.m.le west of the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, is the first of the three convenience markets/gas stations owned by PME to undergo the makeover process and the results are dramatic. read more »
