Franciscan Health System has taken the first legal step towards construction of its planned 112-bed hospital in Gig Harbor. Franciscan recently applied for the necessary Certificate of Need from the Washington State Department of Health, which governs to process.

Olympic Printer Resources, Inc. of Kingston, a firm providing repair service for most printers, fax machines and small personal copiers, has been designated a Brother authorized service center for all Brother Laser Printers, Multifunction and Intellifax machines.

As a Brother Authorized Service Center, the firm can provide warranty service and repair on Brother equipment and has direct access to Brother for replacement parts and imaging products. read more »

 

Charter Communications, Inc. recently announced it had a signed definitive agreement with WaveDivision Holdings, LLC for the sale of its Port Orchard, system. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but the value of the deal is reported to be $91 million.

Charter’s Port Orchard system serves approximately 25,500 analog video customers, 12,900 digital video customers and 11,000 cable modem subscribers in its Port Orchard system. read more »

 

The Greater Kingston Kiwanis Foundation has awarded $500 scholarships to three graduating high school seniors who live in the North Kitsap area.

Those selected for this initial award of scholarships were Beth Ann Hanson graduating from King’s West High School, Jennifer Nicole Johnson of North Kitsap High School, and Shannon Marie Crabtree from West Sound Academy. The main criteria for selection were students who had demonstrated community service activities that highlight positive character, citizenship, and self-reliance. read more »

The ubiquitous Niels G. Nielsen, past president of Port Orchard Rotary Club and never one to miss a photo opportunity, recently attended the 98th annual Rotary International convention, which was held in Brisbane, Australia.
